Hello everyone ...

Just like to introduce myself to you all, and a little about who I am and what I do!

I am a partner in a small marketing company where we deliver as much or as little help to similar companies who buy our time.

Part of the marketing activity includes delivering web sites. I am at the moment building a new content management system based on the Smarty Templating System. I am aiming to be XHTML and CSS verified.

I have used quite a bit of PHP, Javascript, MySQL, CSS and XHTML.

I find myself diving into the web or buying books to give me on the job learning experience - and tend to find that I am not adopting the best approach first time.

I employed a graduate last summer for a temporary 2 month placement assisting me with delivery of the web sites. He is still gainfully employed 10 months on. When I interviewed him I had no experience of PHP or MySQL, and he had no commercial working experience. I promised him that I would provide many challenges along the way and would mentor him.

As a project manager by trade, and programming experience covering almost 25 years I generally get by with creative solutions.  This is not always the correct way.  I am here to be enlightened.

If you are still reading this far, may I thank you. This looks to be a fantastic site, I am I looking forward to participaing and contributing just as soon as I find my feet.

May I ask how you found the site.  I am just is the process of setting up an ad campaign and knowing which channels are getting people to the site is always helpful for ad targeting.
