Looks good   Like you said, a strong wire frame that you can stick anything into. Now all we have to do is give it some skin, slap on some makeup, and scream "ITS ALIVE!"

even I didn't know about all of those tasks, so others certainly didn't either. Post a list of 'job openings' somewhere, and mass mail the mentors asking for help. My guess is that at least a few people will offer their time and abilities.

Wheres this job list?

Looking at the members list I see I am the most active user when its comes to asking questions in the forums. One thing being an asker I find a problem is the lack of Mentors on the site.

When I ask a question it can be answered, responded to, or ignored.

On TOS 2% of my questions were never responded to.
On ERT 21% of my questions were never responded to.

from my own experience with ee.com, I saw a lot of unanswered questions, may-be more than 2% of the whole :D

In here, you'll notice I tried to address all your questions, but sometimes they are too specific for me to add any valuable input. The same could be said on ee.com ; very specific questions, or ones that involve too much time thinkering, are abandoned relatively easily.

Don't forget also that ee.com "members" can ask for a close&refund (& delete as not PAQed) when they got no answer, or no answer they find valuable. This explains why you don't see that many unanswered Open Q on ee.com

if we as a community can't help a visitor with a question in a timely manner, well they will just go look somewhere else.

[...]But most of my questions unfortunately are empty and forgotten about which doesn't do much help, not to ERT and definitely not me, because I have to in the end attempt to answer the question myself.

That's ***also*** one way of adding an Answer to your own Question, for the benefit of all others ;-)

Personally, I think such questions may get an answer when more people are interested about it, for example when it comes to "new" & experimental techniques. I also found interesting questions years after they were once submitted (and never answered, BTW). From time to time, this enabled me to get a direct answer to my problem from the Asker, even if it was not written on the site itself. This can enrich the Q&A site.

Roy,

As a constructive note, not from personal taste:
What I learned from the designer I work with, is that:
- alignment can make and brake layout
- define columns to have same size, or factors of the same default width. 1st col, 3x120px, 2nd col, 1x120px, with 20px in between. This however doesn't apply to full fluid layouts as ERT has now.
- centered text is out of the order always except for footer copyright notices and graphics.

On that basis I designed my sketch, as I am, like you, not a designer, unless I am forced to do it, when clients aren't willing to pay for a real designer.

I am talking about posts that were at least responded to. Does not have to be answered but wasnt even posted with even an 'I dont know' On EE those questions were deleted by me so I have an accurate count of them. On EE I basicallt did a count of them with 0 replies and thats how I came up with the above percentages.

I can only speak for myself, but in my case, when I come across  a question that I cannot offer an answer for, I don't post anything, so as not to clutter things up. On TOS, a lot of junk gets posted whether people can help or not, cause "it's all about the points, baby." That may help explain some of the lack of response.

Seriously, let's not let that get lost in the mix. There must be some things that Roy could use help with, and I'm sure others (e.g. PHP team) may have tasks that people with different skills could do. I'm going to open a thread in the Soapbox called "Help Wanted" where jobs can be posted and people can volunteer to help.

Sorry if I stepped on any dino toes. I was just giving my impression.. I thought that was what was wanted. Not sure what to do now.

You all know I appreciate and learn from your work. I do what I can, even if it's just a little bit of spelling and grammar fixes here and there.

If I haven't said it enough:

Thank you Roy! Thanks to all the Mentors and site builders!

 =D>

Dare I say I like Roonaan's design? I'll go for now..
