This has been changed to the choice for the SITE MAP icon.
Your vote is still Important, as this is now a different subject.

Sorry about the link. I couldn't get them to Paste here.

Since we already have a Logo work being done and that is entering its final phase I believe moving with a new one would only duplicate work. This design could be used as the basis for a Site Map, though.

You could be on to something, there. But several people expressed an interest, so I thought it only fair to to give it a chance.

Yeah this is going to be the basis of teh site map, so I think we can still look at a preference poll, but perhaps title the question as site map instead of logo.

Interesting. Let me see what I can do with it.

<time passing>

OK. That should do it.  Probably need to add it to the Vote Link, to let people know.       :)

coral, perhaps in future votes you might include "none of the above". While I appreciate keneso's work, Lobo has already defined an excellent set of logos.

For the sake of continuity, I do believe we should at least wait on this vote until after the official site logo is chosen so that the font used on the site map matches the one used on the logo.  This is all a work in progress so there's no need to rush at this point.  I will say that the style of design #2 would be my choice once when we settle on a font.

The plans we have for the site map involve a lot of work so holding it back would not be a good thing.  The selection of design for it do not lock us in to a font.  It is going to have a lot of work done with it, so that it becomes the base for a flash driven set of menus, and eventually may be a starting point for flash movies with site tutorials. So we need to give the people working with it as much time as we can, to get the basic design done.

Plus we need a static version of the image to support users with no flash.

I'd suggest, like already done in another thread to cast the votes after listening to the various opinions, and suggestions.

As for the font, it is not hard to change with the final font.

You can also suggest combination of those: i.e. use #2 concept with #6's aluminum finish.

Make the brushed finish in another color, instead of aluminum could be bronze/gold/blue or any other color.

Just while writing the above it crossed my mind that we may have a gold/silver/bronze medal to identify our rankings

Number 1 in those choices is nice with maybe a little tweaking on the color.

I like the last one because it stays with the Aluminoid theme and, when the nav cats are added, it'll allow them to be the predominant element through colour (dark text on lighter background)   :D

>> might include "none of the above" <<     I keep meaning to, but that seems to come under the heading:  "Still shaking out the Bugs". And this one is a nasty one... BKAC (Between Keyboard And Chair).

The last option stayed with the Aluminoid theme and so i voted for it.
But i would've liked to see a cross between 4 and 6.
