EE is seding me an expert shirt

I thought I would never see the day,
And at the rate I was going I guess it would have never come. I had been answering a few questions each month but finally I stopped caring enough to not even get those 3k a month to keep premium alive, and a few weeks after I lost premium I got an email offering an EE t-shirt with my rank on it. The request form also had a small questionnaire about my reasons to stop participating. One of the questions asked what would EE have to do for me to come back, I filled it out with utter honesty. (They have a better chance of discovering oil than meeting my demands, but at least someone in there seems to be trying).
Anyway, I thought this was interesting. Anybody else got that email?
BTW, it is so nice that ERT exists. I am an ungrateful bastard in general, this nice group of people is not the only one I neglect, but bear in mind that I have you guys in very high regards even if I seem to disappear for months at a time.

I also got that mail. :) They must be desperate.
I visit EE from time to time (when I'm extremely bored) to check on the quality of the given answers in HTML and CSS.
It's amazing how much junk such site can gather.

That's what I thought... I was chuckling about it. I haven't answered a serious question on EE for over 2 years, and haven't participated at all for months now. Now they are wanting to send me a t-shirt. What amused me most was some of the questions they were asking.

After they banned me for no good reason, a year later they actually wanted me to come back. No thanks! I learned my lesson about EE and their greed to just make money and spit on the experts who provide them free answers. I am surprised about this t-shirt thing though, it must be costing them a small fortune (in EE terms $25 total) to get them for experts. With the hours of IT help experts provide and they amount of money they make they better spend more than that to motivate anyone.

I'll have mine just plain blue please. I have enough old shirts for doing the gardening on sundays. Actually, those shirts are not that bad when you wear them inside out.

My guess is that the shirts cost them something in the lines of $3.95 + S&H (about an extra $4).
I haven't seen the shirts yet but the offer stated that the rank was on the shirt and I don't think they print the username on it. They can easily get those types of shirts in bulk.

I'm still playing there. Mostly because I want a Lounge Cert (it's the one that really counts).
They did pull kind of a fast one to keep the cost down (not that I am saying it was a bad idea, really).
No matter how many Certs you have before this 'program' started, you only get one shirt to start with.
Any Cert (or new level) you earn after this 'program' has started, you do get a shirt for.
I can forward my email with a pic of the shirt, if someone wants to see it. : D

Yeah I got it too. Desperate? Yeah, have you seen the level that responses have sunk to. There are a couple of tech help forums for young kids where I help out a little. Threre are 8 year old kids doing a better job of answering HTML, CSS and web related Qs then the current crop of wannabe "experts" at EE. It has been turned into a bad joke.
As for answering the question about what it would take I referred them to my previous responses to Eric and Wes for the conditions that would make me consider; starting with a public apology from Austin to me and every other Expert who was abused. This is not the first time that EE has had to use recruiting to bring back Experts.
After the bankruptcy when most had left therewas a group (me, Eric, Wes, Kenl, Dennis) who chased down former Experts and recruited from other sites to re-build. It worked back then because EE still had credibility... today it is considered by many to be one of the worst SE spammers on the internet.

Yeah, I got a couple emails from them about shirts over the last several months. A couple years ago I might have been excited.....I've just been pressing delete....

I got the offer and don't turn down free stuff, but it will simply be a work shirt for cleaning at the cafe.
Don't have any idea what it will look like, though. I didn't see a pictire in my plain text e-mail.
