wow there are confirmations and new learnings for me from reading you :
- you've a very short school year. Already graduated end of May ? :D No school work until September ? :D
There is a summer semester of 8 weeks, a fall semester of 16 weeks, and a spring semester of 16 weeks.
- you had to pay for college : I hope you don't also pay the IRS an allowance for the educational system ;-)
But of course...a capitalist society if there ever was one. There are grants and scholarships and the government offers loans that I believe are no interest until after you graduate then relatively low interest after graduation.
- you still use a A,B,C,D [,E?] based system. I suppose with A+, B- and such. Funny :D
It is 4.0 (perfect..to 0.0 a complete failure.) However it is still common to think of those grades as A+, A, A-, B+, ... D-, F. (no E)
- you still use the Middle-Age-style latin mentions for graduates. Quite odd ;-)
If you say so.
- white "Colgate" teeth are part of the American Dream panoply ;-)
For most. Making money is the primary measure of success for most Americans, but not taught very well. Many Americans are quite good at making money but quite ignorant about building wealth. If your family knows how to build wealth you may learn...but don't expect the University professors to know much about it, nor will many of the get rich books have any value.
- dumb blonde jokes don't always miss the point in getting blondes to work as hard as ugly girls ;-)
No, it really motivated her to dis-prove the stereotype. She had the intelligence that was a coincidence of birth, but needed the will to work to excel.
à part from that, 80% congratulations to the girl for succeeding [20% go to Daddy pushing her] and 49% congrats to the Dad too for such a beautiful daughter ;-)
Thanks!
